So I'm finally done with studio. I mean, atleast this semester of studio. There's never really a point where I'll be completely done with it. So you know what that means right? Tons of music and such. I'm considering what I should focus on first, there's so much there. There's that original song I should get around to (along with other original work), acoustic arrangements and other VG covers, and live material using my looping technique. I'm considering starting out with the live material, as it would be nice to have a demo of that out there to send people and possibly get a gig if I'm lucky. Just so I can remember it, these are the songs I'm considering adapting:
Led Zeppelin- Achilles Last Stand
Masafumi Takada- No More Heroes Theme
King Crimson- Dangerous Curves
Basically, anything that's repetitious at epic proportions, allowing alot of improv opportunities. Dangerous Curves is most promising in this regard. I'm also considering...
King Crimson- Fallen Angel
Kenji Yamamoto- Brinstar Red Soil (from Super Metroid)
These simply because they're big favorites of mine and they should mix well with the looping format. As far as original music goes, an obvious choice is "What's This Ocean You Speak Of," though much of my work could most likely be adapted well by focusing on certain portions of the songs, overlayed with extensive improvisation. The ending of "A Common Fantasy," the bridge of "Memory Lapse," the chorus of "I like girls... but the guitar stays around longer," even the refrain of my new composition.
I should find out a way to possibly post this stuff on dA, possibly through Flash. So much to do in the next few months.
Update: Oh, I almost forgot, another song I'd like to experiment with: King Crimson's Deception of the Thrush. As long as I can pull off the midi effects, but I think most of this stuff depends on that. All I would really need is some kind of psychotic poetry to recite from, pitch shift my voice, and craziness ensues. Maybe a PKD excerpt...

I write, I don't draw. I believe my offerings to be worthy but there is nothing pretty where I live. Fair warning.
And I'm glad you think I'm talented. Art is one of the greatest things in life, I just enjoy exploring it as far as possible.
